Tifdwarf was released in 1962 as a putting greens grass for warm weather climates replacing 328 Tifgreen, and became the staple for greens for almost 40 years. It has a dark blue green color that turns purple in cooler temperatures. It has a very fine texture with small rounded leaves that hug the ground closely and can be mowed down to 1/8 inch. Turfgrass America was one of the original growers in 1962. Not recommended for homeowners due to high maintenance.
